Sewage Water Purification Management

Sewage water purification consists of three parts sewage management that starts from main sewers. Firstly, from the main sewer, sewage is distributed to a settling tank. Here, undecayed solid materials are left on the bottom of the tank and separated with polluted water. Then the polluted water is pumped to pump house. After the polluted water passed the pump house, it is distributed to a sprinkles bed. In this part, the polluted water from pump house are flowed up to jets and rotated with rotating arms. Then the polluted water is filtered from stones and microorganisms, so it will make the water more purified. Lastly, the purified water from the sprinkles bed enters the river.

Sewage Disposal Unit

Dangerous liquid sewage from the industry can be processed through purification process in the sewage disposal unit. Generally, the sewage will flowed into three main parts of the sewage disposal unit. First, the sewage from the main sewer flowed into the settling tank. In the settling tank, the undecayed solids from the sewage will stay in the tank base. Then, it’s removed and burned. Then, polluted water from the settling tank is flowed into the pump house. Then the polluted water is pumped from the pump house to the sprinkler bed. In the sprinkler bed, the polluted water is flowed to the rotating arms. Then, the polluted water is sprayed rotationally to the top surface of sprinkler bed. Then, it’s purified by the filter which contain stones and micro-organism. Finally, the purified water is safe to be flowed into the river.

Model Essay

Examination not assessment
In the past two decade, the use of formal examinations has become less frequent in many countries. The educational systems in some societies however are still dominated by formal examinations. I believe that, to a certain extent, examinations can give an unfair assessment of a student’s ability. Even thought examination result has been used extensively as a means of assessment in the past, there are times when they do not appear to reflect a student’s ability accurately.

Firstly, examinations can be unfair in several ways. For example, that whole career of a candidate depends upon what he or she does on a certain day and hour of an exam. If the candidate is ill, or if he or she has had some emotional trauma, these factors could have a negative effect on the student’s exam results. Furthermore, some students do not perform well under pressure and require a longer time to reach useful conclusions. Even though they may have studied diligently and know the subject matter thoroughly their performance does not reflect their ability. For these students, examinations appear to be unfair.

Yet, some people believe that examinations make people work hard. They assume that in order to do well, students need to work throughout the course as they know they will have to prove themselves at the end.

However, in many ways, exams have the opposite effect; some candidates merely cram so that they can perform quickly for the demands of the tests. Other forms of assessment such as course work and oral presentations are a more accurate reflection of how hard students work. In the assessment of their ability, students diligence, initiative, deductive reasoning and organizational skills are considered, which are important indicators of ability but are rarely tested in a formal examination.

In conclusion, even though formal examinations have been used in the past, they should no longer be used as the only means of assessment because they can be an unfair indication of the student’s overall ability. In the long term, other less formal means of assessment such as course work or oral presentations are a more useful indicator of the skills required in adult life and, therefore, a more accurate indication of a student’s ability.

TASK 4

Sewage usually dangerous for the nature, so we need a process before the sewage can be disposed freely to the river going to the sea. “Fresh sewage” from the sewer was collected in the settling tank. In this tank, particles heavier than water fall to the bottom of the tank, then it will be removed and burned. The polluted water that its solids have been removed was pumped through the pipes to the surface where there’s a filter. The polluted water comes out from the sprinkler so the water can be spread over the filter’s surface. The filter consists of several layers of stones and microorganisms. Polluted water will flow through those series of layers and was collected under the filter. The result of this process is purified water which is safe to be disposed in the river or sea.

Sewage Disposal Unit

The best way to waste the sewage is use a sewage disposal unit. In the sewage disposal unit, sewage can be changed to the purified water. First, sewage from main sewer is flown to settling tank. In there, sewage is separated to be polluted water and the undecayed solid will settle at the bottom of the settling tank. The undecayed solid is removed and burned. Next, the polluted water is flown to pump house. After that, the polluted water is pumped to the sprinkler beds. The outside of sprinkler bed is made of brick work. At the top of sprinkler bed there are rotating arms which can sprinkle the polluted water into sprinkler bed. After polluted water get into sprinkler bed, the polluted water is filtered and finally the polluted water is changed to be purified water and is flown to the river.

Simple Methane Production from Household Waste

Household waste can be processed to be methane in simple systems. First, in this system, the waste is put into the warming bed. In the warming bed, the waste is fermented by methanogenic bacteria resulting in raw methane. The side product can be used as fertilizer. The raw methane flows through a pipe into dirt trap. In his place the pure methane and dirt are separated. The methane which is lighter occupies the upper side and heavier dirt will reside at lower side. Then the pure methane flows into half-water-filled and top-sealed tube called gas indicator. The bubbles in the water indicate the existence of methane. The methane fulfills the rest of the tube and become saturated. After that, the methane flows to the next pipe that is also connected to the gas indicator. The methane then experiences increasing of its pressure due to the inner tubes that is loaded by weight. Now the methane can be taken from the tap at the end of the gas holder. If the pressure of the methane is too high, the excess gas will flows to a top-opened and water-filled tube. In this way the excess gas can be released to the air so the stability of the system can be maintained.

Sewage Disposal Unit

The process of disposing sewage in the sewage disposal unit is quite simple. First, the polluted water is flown to the settling tank through the main sewer. In the settling tank, the polluted water is separated from the undecayed solids that is stays in the bottom of the tank. After the separating process, the undecayed solids is removed from the tank and then burned while the polluted water is flown to the pump house. In the pump house, the polluted water is pumped to the sprinkler beds, which is the last part of the process. In the sprinkler beds, the polluted water flows through the rotating arms. The speed of the rotating arm makes the polluted water that flows through become a jet. Then, the jet of polluted water is sprayed to the filter that made of bricks and contains stones and micro-organisms. When the water flows through the filter, the stones and micro-organisms filter and purified the water. After that process, the water is ready to enter the river.

Sewage Disposal Unit

A sewage disposal unit doesn’t work in a complicated way. First, waste mostly comes from houses flows through the main sewer to the settling tank. In the settling tank, the waste is separated into two forms, the undecayed solids waste and the polluted water. The undecayed solids waste are removed from the settling tank and burnt outside, while the polluted water is distributed to the pump house. The second process is taken in the pump house. The polluted water is pumped from the pump house to the sprinkler beds, where the purifying water process is taken. Next, the polluted water is pumped out to the rotating arms which have jets to rotate them. The polluted water is sprayed out of the rotating arms to the brick work. The brick work is a part of the sprinkler beds which has a function to filter the polluted water from stones and micro-organisms. After the water is filtered, the purified water is distributed to river.

HOW TO DISTRIBUTE WATER IN THE HOUSE
Distributing the water in the house is not very difficult. First, the water is pumped from underground by the water pump. Then, some of the water is distributed to the cold water tank while some of the water is directly distributed to house devices, such as sink in the kitchen or to the bathroom. Next, in the bathroom, the water is distributed to various devices. It is kept in the toilet, wash basin pipe, and also in the bathtub pipe. After the water reaches the cold water tank, some of the water is distributed to the hot water tank to be heated. Last, the hot water is distributed through the pipe to the bathtub pipe, wash basin pipe, and sink whenever the taps are opened.

Methane

Now, we can produce methane from the waste by number of stages. First, wastes from house collect in a big tank which is named warming bed. In this tank, waste are separated as fertilizer and methane formula. Then methane are flew to the dirt trap. Dirt from the methane are separated. After that, methane that is in liquid reform to gas by the gas indicator. Next, methane flow to the preassure release. In this tank, excess gas release from methane. And the last, methane is pumped out of the tap by put weight on the linear tube which put in the methane's way.

Extracting Methane Gas

Methane, one of the main components in natural gas, can be produced from a very simple thing, such as house-hold waste or garbage. First of all we put the garbage in a warming bed. In the warming bed the garbage is selected, which one as methane source and which one as fertilizer. The garbage as methane source will go to the dirt trap, where the garbage and the methane are separated. Then the methane will continue to the gas indicator. Gas indicator is a big tank containing water with a sealed top. When there are too many methane gas produced which can caused the pressure of the gas is too high, the excess gas is brought to the pressure release. It is similar to the gas indicator, but it has no sealed top. Finally, the remaining methane gas is contained in the gas holder. Gas holder is a device containing several inner tubes, with weights on top of it to increase the gas pressure.

Water System

Did you know how water can distribute to all of your house side? There is a water system that have been made by the people when their built their house. This system is part of meters of pipes. First, water from PDAM or pump flow to the main pipe. In this pipe, water is pumped to the all of the floor in the house, like toilet, wash basin, bath, sink, and others. After that, some are storage in the cold water tank. People usually put this tank on the roof. Then, if people need hot water, from the cold one it flow to the hot water tank. Lastly, we can use the hot water, after it is pumped to all hot water pipes in the house.

"Rumah Gadang"

Rumah gadang has unique parts that make it special as a traditional house from West Sumatra. It seem to be different with other traditional houses. Rumah gadang has curved roof like a buffaloe's horn. It's body's shape same like a ship. It's floor made 2 meters high from the ground. Rumah gadang also has other unique, it has many different name. People name it based on the number of room in front to back side. It can be named as "Lipek Pandan", "Balah Bubuang", and "Gajah Maharam". And then last speciality from Rumah Gadang is there are many circumstances did by the people before and when their built Rumah Gadang. "Mufakat Awal" and "Maelo Kayu" are what people do before their built the house. "Mancatak Tiang Tuo", "Batagak Tiang", and "Manaikan Kudo-kudo" are did when people built it.

Task 3

Debus
Debus is a form of a traditional martial art that is combined with the art of dances, vocals, and a bit essence of magic from Banten. Debus was created in the 16th century by Sunan Gunung Jati as an effort in spreading the learning of Islam. But then between the years of 1651-1682, the purpose of performing Debus evolved into encouraging the soldier of Banten before going to war against the Dutch. The purpose of performing Debus evolves over the years until now it is performed only as a show in traditional ceremony or just a show dedicated to the public especially tourist, but the process of Debus is very much the same.
The show starts with the opening (gembung) which is the singing of sholawat or the praises to Prophet Mohammed and the God accompanied by drumming of tabuh for 30 minutes. The show continues with beluk, which is again the singing of praises but only the voices are raised and the singers reply at each other dzikir still in the drumming of tabuh. Along with beluk, the performers start to perform certain stunts according to what they wish to do. The idea is that they hurt their body with knives, fire, needle, and even acid but their body can still retain the pain and then they get away with no wound.
There are certain stunts that are commonly performed such as stabbing body with traditional weapons like golok, eating fire, stitching needles through tongue and arms, and of course the most popular is walking through wreckage of glasses. Lastly the show ended with gemurung, which is intensive drumming of tabuh.

The water that runs in our houses usually follows the same simple cycle. It starts with the cold water pumped directly from the main pipe to the sink on the first floor and to the toilet, the wash basin, and the bath on the second floor. A part of the water which has not been used is stored in the cold water tank at the attic. After that the water in the cold water tank flows to the hot water tank to be then heated and becomes the hot water. Lastly the hot water is distributed to the bath and the wash basin on the second floor and to the sink on the first floor

EXTRACTING METHANE

Methane is derived from the house hold waste. The waste enters a warming bed for warming. The warming process produces methane used for fertilizer and methane that needs more processing. The fertilizer can be used directly without any further process but the other methane product must be processed to get the pure methane. First, the methane enters a dirt trap to separate the dirt phase and gas phase. Then, the gas phase flows through pipe to a sealed tank with water inside that acts as the gas indicator. The product from this reaction flows to 2 pipes. The first pipe carries the gas to a pressure release tank for decreasing the pressure of gas excess when the pressure is high while another pipe carries it to the inner tubes with weight on the top to increase the pressure of the gas. Finally, the rest gas is carried to a gas holder that will flow it to the tap where we can get the pure methane just by opening the tap.

SEWAGE DISPOSAL UNIT

The sewage disposal process begins in the settling tank, where the polluted water comes in from the main sewer. There, the polluted water undergoes a process where undecayed solids contained in that water, is removed and burned. Secondly, the water is distributed to the pump house. From there, the water is then pumped to the third part of the process, which is the sprinkler beds. In the sprinkler beds, the water is cleaned by the brick work and rotating arms mechanism. The stones and micro-organisms are filtered in this process. After going through that final process, the purified water is distributed back to enter the river.

Task 3 Mendoan Tempeh

MENDOAN TEMPEH

Because I do not know unique foods from my hometown, Bekasi, so I will tell you about my born town’s food, Cilacap. My favorite food from Cilacap is Mendoan.
Mendoan is tempeh covered with flour and medium fried. Added with some slices onion leaves, some onion slices, salt, sugar, and seasoning.
We can find stall which sell mendoans everywhere in Cilacap, especially in traditional market, city square and theme park. In addition, we can order mendoan’s seller to make stand for some events like wedding, family gathering, birthday party, etc.
I think mendoan is the best food from Cilacap. that because mendoan is very delicious and melt in my mouth. Because of that, I always go to the mendoans stall everytime I go to Cilacap.

task 3 Hot n Cold Water Process

WATER DISTRIBUTION IN HOUSEHOLD
Firstable, the land water or cold water from the source go in to the pipes. Water flows through the pipes and divided into two way. The first way goes nito the sink without changing into hot water, and the second way goes up into the toilet and divided into four way. The water goes to the toilet, wash basin, and bathtub, also without changing into hot water or still cold water. The last ways goes to cold water tanks to save the water. If needed, water from the tanks goes in through the pipe and flow into the hot water tank to convert the cold water into hot water. After the changement, the hot water goes into the pipe and divided into two parts way. First way, the water flows down into the sink. The second way, water flows into the bathtub and the basin.
NATIONAL MONUMENT

One of the most beautiful places in Jakarta is the National Monument or Monas. It is located in central Jakarta, near the Gambir Station. National Monument is surrounded by a huge and beautiful park which is open everyday to welcome the visitors.
The National Monument is a 450 ft (137 m) tall tower, which is symbolizing the fight for Indonesia’s Independence. Its construction began in 1961 under Soekarno and was not finished until 197 under Soeharto. A 14,5 tones flamed-shaped bronze plated in 35 kg (1,125 troy ounces ) of gold tops it.
Visitors can take a lift up to a platform with a good view of Medan Merdeka Park, Istiqlal Mosque and the city, if it is not too foggy. Inside the base of the monument, is an exhibition on the country's Declaration of Independence and several dioramas showing the history of Indonesia. In the park, you can sit down in the park bench and play in the children arena, and see a lot of deer walking around in that park
Water Distribution

Water distribution in Indonesia is arranged under the PDAM. They use the pipe system in underground to distribute the water. They distribute water from spring to many houses. In house, water that came from underground pipe is separated in three different way. The first one brings the water from the ground to be saved in the cold water tank (something like kettle in a big size) in the upstairs. Then, from the cold water tank, it’s flow to the heater that makes the water become hot and then distribute it to the water tap at the wash basin, bath, and the toilet in the upstairs and to the sink in the downstairs. The second one is distribute the water directly to the washbasin, bath, and the toilet. The last one brings the water to the sink. That is how the water distributes into our house so we can use it easily.

Task Three

Dodol – Garut’s Most Loveable Food.

Dodol, the traditional food that comes from Garut, is easy and inexpensive to make. All we need just a fresh milk, sugar, brown sugar, rice flour, and butter. First, boil all the items in a pan and add butter until the dough becomes thick and brown for an hour. Then, add the rice flour until it’s not sticky enough and turns dark brown. We must be careful not to stop stirring the dough to prevent it formed crust at the bottom of the pan. This process needs to be done for at least three hours. Next, placed the dough to a cake tin covered with some plastic and already greased with butter. The butter helps us to make the dough is easier to release. In addition, this process usually requires more than 12 hours. After the dodol becomes cold and solid, cut it into some little pieces. Then, we can enjoy the dodol right away.

Process Paragraph

Have you ever wondered how cold and hot water is distributed within the house? Here, we’ll find out about that. First, the cold water that comes from the mains is flowed to house appliances, such as sink, toilet, washbasin, and bathtub. The other channel, which connected the mains with the cold water tank, stores the water before it is distributed to hot water tank. Then, after some heating process, the hot water is flowed to the same house appliances where the cold water goes. That is how we can get both the hot and cold water at the same time within the house.

HOW IS HOT WATER AND COLD WATER SUPPLIED TO OUR HOUSES?

The process of supplying hot water and cold water to our houses is quite simple. First, cold water from underground is pumped through pipelining process that is divided into 3 pipes. The first pipe flows the cold water to a sink while the second pipe flows it to three lines, to the wash basin, toilet, and bath. The cold water in the third pipe is flew to the heater tank for heating to get the hot water. Finally, the hot water is pumped again to the water tabs of the sink, wash basin, and bath.

methane extraction process

Household waste is not just an invaluable waste; we can get methane gas, which can be used as alternative energy source, from the extraction of household waste. The extraction process is begun when the waste is loaded into the warming bed. From this warming bed, the waste will be distributed for two different usages, as a fertilizer and as a material for the methane extraction. In the second phase of the process, methane gas, which is contained by waste, is transported into the dirt trap container. The dirt trap will cause the methane is separated from other substances of the waste. Then, the methane gas is supplied into top-sealed gas indicator. Methane gas will combined with water inside this equipment, so we can see methane bubbles are formed in the water. After that, the methane gas will be supplied to pressure release equipment. This equipment is full of water with no sealed-top. The methane distribution pipe splits at this phase, first “branch” pipe is inserted into the water with its end is 8 cm below the water surface. This pipe is used as a “drain” of excess methane gas when the pressure of the system is high. The second “branch” pipe will distribute the methane gas into the gas holder (a set of inner tubes with weight to increase the pressure of gas). While the methane gas passes the pipe of gas holder, its pressure will be increased. At the end of this pipe, there is a tap which controls the output flow of the extracted methane gas.

Sewage Management

The sewage management system consists of three stages. First sewage from the main sewer is channelled to a settling tank. The sewage remains in the tank to precipitate. After a while, the undecayed solids are left at the bottom of the tank, and then the polluted water is distributed to the pump house. The pump house then pumps the polluted water to the sprinkler bed. The sprinkler bed is a filter of stones and microorganisms, surrounded with brick work on its outer part, and on top of the filter are rotating arms. Polluted water is pumped to the top of the sprinkler bed, creating jets of polluted water in the air, which then fell to the filter inside the sprinkler bed. The polluted water was here purified. The the purified water was flown to the river.

Extracting Methane

There are some steps to extract methane gas from household waste. First the waste from household enters the warming bed. Then it divided into two process, they are methane process and fertilizer process. For methane process the household waste goes directly to dirt trap. In dirt trap, the dirt fall into the bottom because of it weight. After that, the methane liquid which already free from dirt, flows into gas indicator. Gas indicator is a kind of container with sealed on top where methane is checked whether it is still produce or not by seeing the bubbles in water. After that, methane flows to pressure release place in order to stabilize methane. Then, methane placed in inner tube for adaptation. That inner tube then connected into a tap. Methane that comes out from the tap is ready to use.

Task 3

Definition Paragraph

Ice Lodeh is a kind of drink that tastes like “rujak”. It is hot and sour, but it serves with ice. So the taste is a mix between hot and cold, it’s refreshing. It is made of local fruits, like: mango, longan, pineapple, and rose apple. Those fruit are cut in a small slice then cook with the other ingredients, like: water, chilly, tomato, etc. The look is not really good for some people. But, it has a great taste. This drink is really unique because it can only be found in the center of city in Jombang, East Java. We can find it in the public market in Jombang.

extracting methane

Extracting methane gas from household waste

To extract the methane gas from household waste is easy to explain, but not that easy to do. First, put household wastes into the warming bed. In the warming bed, the waste will be separated into two parts, some of it will become fertilizer, while the others continue to next procedure, the dirt trap. Dirt trap filters components that flows from the warming bed through a pipe. It also have a release cap on it's bottom, so whenever the dirt trapped in the trap is full, you should open it's cap so the dirt won't overflooding it. After being dirt-filtered, components are heading to the gas indicator. In there, those components are reacted with water so the methane is separated from it's 'carrier' (the household waste components), and it also become bubbles which tell us how much methane we can get. After get extracted, the methane gas flows through the pipe, heading to the gas holder and ready for use. But in the way there, it have to pass two more systems to control it's pressure. First system is the pressure release, it excess gas when pressure is high, so it's basic function is to reduce the gas pressure. The other one is inner tubes, it works like a pump, so when you give weight on top of it, it will increase the gas pressure. after passing those procedures, you can get the extracted methane by pushing the tap at the end of gas holder.

Task 3 (late)

DEFINITION PARAGRAPH
Sate is basically cut-up barbecued meat on a stick. Sate from Madura has a slight distinction from sate from other sate, which is its sauce, a mixture of nuts and sweet soya sauce. That gives a mixture of a sweet and salty taste. The meat on Madurese sate are usually thin and small. Each consists of 3-5 pieces of meat. The meat is cooked until its color is dark brown, so you can be sure that it is finely cooked. Sate is usually eaten with rice or lontong (stuffed rice in a roughly cylindrical form). This makes Madurese sate favourable to many people because of its practicality, and also because of its delicious taste.

PROCESS PARAGRAPH
The source of water in a house comes from one main source. That main source distributes cold water throughout the house. On the first floor, is directly distributed to the sink. On the second floor, it is distributed either directly to the toilet, wash basin, and bath, or to the cold water tank for storage. From the cold water tank, the water goes to the hot water tank, where it is heated. From the hot water tank, the water is distributed to the sink on the first floor, or the wash basin, and bath on the second floor.
